Can we camp?
There’s no camping on site, but there are two great campsites nearby:

Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, our licence doesn’t allow us to welcome your lovely friend.
Can I bring my own booze?
As a licenced premises, its up to us to ensure the comfort and safety of all festival goers. We are responsible for making sure no one has overindulged on the premises. So, sorry it’s not possible, no glass or alcohol can be brought onto site. We do have bag searches on entry.
But also it’s the profit from things like the bar that provides the funds to run the show. So by buying from our bars, food stands and traders, you’re making sure we can come back next year.
How can you do all this for free?
Charlbury Riverside Festival is run entirely by volunteers. All the bands, bar staff, stewards and wombles are volunteers. The organisers don’t take any financial reward. We use the profits to pay for the stages, sound equipment (and best sound engineers), infrastructure and professional bonded security team.
We beg, borrow and deal to put this together. Sometimes there’s some money left over, and we put it in the bank, sometimes it gets rained off so we make a loss.
Charlbury Town Council let use this field to entertain the people of Charlbury and they give us a very welcome grant. This is entertainment by the people, for the people.
Should I bring a card or cash?
Due to works on the local telecommunications mast during the weekend of the festival, there may be issues with the connections required for point-of-sale machines on site. We therefore recommend you go old-school and bring enough cash with you – just in case.
