Cornbury Festival reveals first act of this year’s line-up

Chipping Norton Battle of the Bands’ winner secures a place on the Riverside Stage at Cornbury Festival

False AlarmFour-part vocal group, False Alarm, became the first band announced for this year’s Cornbury Festival (5, 6 & 7 July), after a tense Battle of the Bands competition at Chipping Norton School on Wednesday evening (6 February) secured the band a spot on the Festival’s popular Riverside Stage.

Grace Pashley, Tazu Walden, Evie Rose and Ellie Hiatt impressed the panel of judges, headed by Cornbury Festival Director Hugh Phillimore, with a skilful mash-up – devised by Tazu Walden – of Taylor Swift’s Love Story and Maroon 5’s She Will Be Loved. With just a gentle acoustic guitar backing from Ellie Hiatt, the powerful number showcased real vocal talent from the foursome.

The main stage line-up for the Festivals 10th Anniversay will be released on Friday 1 March when tickets go on sale, and promises to be the best line-up ever.

Justgiving

Tom Sharp ran around the festival site on July 21st for two hours to raise money to help out. He’s nearly reached his target, so please support him!
