Charlbury's Free Music Festival

Riverside 2016 – 23 & 24 July 2016

Put it in your diary!! 23 & 24 July 2016

HANDS UP! Ever wondered how Charlbury manages to hold a free music festival every year? The answer is simple – people like you volunteer to run the show.

Volunteer

If you’ve not been involved in Charlbury’s Riverside Festival before, be part of it this year. Not only is it good fun, but it’s also a great way to meet like-minded people and enjoy the best summer party around. Before the Festival, our team of volunteers select acts, book stallholders, order supplies, organise publicity and arrange children’s activities. Then for the weekend itself we need volunteers to assemble stages, set up sound systems and erect fencing, marquees and stalls; pull pints and pour Pimm’s; sell programmes and T-shirts, help with the recycling, run the kids section and generally keep the festival-goers happy. If you would like to help, even if it’s just for an hour or two, email volunteer@riversidefestival.charlbury.com

We’re also on the lookout for local talent.

The Festival features more than 40 acts playing across three stages, rock, indie, jazz, and folk on the main two stages and all sorts on the Riverside Fringe stage. In recent years we’ve welcomed everything from song and dance acts to performance poets and a contortionist to the Riverside Fringe. If you would like to take a turn email fringe@riversidefestival.charlbury.com to ensure a slot. If you would like to be considered for one of the other stages, email music@riversidefestival.charlbury.com.

Riverside returns to the Millfield, opposite Charlbury Station on Saturday 23 July (12pm–10pm) and Sunday 24 July (11am-8pm)

We’re looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Justgiving

Tom Sharp ran around the festival site on July 21st for two hours to raise money to help out. He’s nearly reached his target, so please support him!

The latest

The evening is upon us but we haven't even got started yet! Next up on that very cool main stage is....The Deadbeat Apostles5-piece soul, blues, rock and roll outfit “infused with a punk spirit that doesn’t trample too hard on the soulful rock’n’roll that is their stock-in-trade”. Angry, political, dressed up to the nines and having a ball. Their songs are a rallying cry for the oppressed and soulful calls for action whilst reminding you why music is your first love.
